Hike-Lime Kiln Trail

June 11 Lime Kiln Trail

8:00 am to 1:00 pm

Moderate

Hike 7 miles round trip on this historical route into a lush and remote canyon carved by the Stillaguamish River near the town of Granite Falls.  625 ft elevation gain.  Keep a lookout for the short, but scenic Oz-Tom trail loop. Meet at 8:00 am at the Mount Vernon Safeway parking lot.   Snohomish county residents may drive directly to the trailhead. Return time of 1:00 pm.   Everyone is to wait for all to return safely before leaving. On another trip we encountered a person who fell in a muddy area of the trail and we needed to find cell reception and wait for the rescue team.
