Protecting Birds-How You Can Help

Lights Out!

• Turn off excess lights and close shades at night.

• Aim outdoor lighting down and/or shield the light.

• Avoid “cool” light color.

Break up reflections on your windows!

Many birds die each year flying into windows. Help birds “see” your windows by:

• Applying window decals or other items on your windows that birds can see.

• Close curtains/shades at night, especially during migration.

• Hanging cords or streamers in front of windows that move and discourage birds from flying through.
