Hike-Goat Mountain*

JULY 29 GOAT MOUNTAIN *

This hike was originally scheduled as Cascade Pass but that trailhead is currently inaccessible, so this is an alternate hike.

This is a wilderness hike. 

MEETING TIME AND PLACE Sedro-Woolley Food Pavilion before 7:30 am. 

DRIVING DIRECTIONS. It will take about 1 hr 30 mins to reach the trailhead. From Sedro Woolley, take Highway 9 north for 22 miles. At the traffic circle, turn right onto SR 542 for 24 miles to Forest Road 32 (Hannegan Pass). The turn off for FR 32 is a quarter-mile past the Washington Department of Highway’s Shuksan maintenance shed. Turn left on FR 32 and drive 2.5 miles to the Goat Mountain trailhead.

HIKE DESCRIPTION 3.75 miles one way with 2550 ft elevation gain gets you to a knob with great views. 

RETURN TIMES 3:00 pm. Everyone is to wait until all are safely returned before leaving. 

Outhouse at trailhead. Dogs allowed on leash. Northwest Forest Pass or Senior Pass required. For more information on weather and trail conditions, visit Goat Mountain — Washington Trails Association
