Birding Field Trip-Swanrise at Barney Lake Conservation Area (Mt. Vernon)

Sat., January 17th – Swanrise at Barney Lake Conservation Area (Mt. Vernon) - 7:00 am-9:30 am

Trip Leaders: Tim Manns and Barry Antler; contact fieldtrips@skagitaudubon.org

Tim Manns and Barry Antler will be our guides to this unique Skagit Land Trust property. We'll watch as groups of magnificent Trumpeter Swans fly out after spending the night on Barney Lake. There will likely be a variety of other waterfowl present as well, and with luck we might spot a beaver or two. Dress for the weather and expect to walk about one-half mile over rough, muddy terrain. Waterproof boots are advised. Bring binoculars and a scope if you have one. Be advised that there are no bathroom facilities on this property. Meet Barry and Tim at 14024 McLaughlin Ext Rd., Mt. Vernon. Please park along the right side of the road just before the gate to the former dairy farm. Carpooling is encouraged as parking is limited. If you would like to carpool, post your contact information and city of residence under “comments” when you register in SignUp Genius. Prior to the event, periodically check the listings on SignUp Genius to arrange for carpooling. Please use this link to register:
