Field trip leader: Jeff Osmundson; contact Colleen at education@skagitaudubon.org
Pre-registration required: see information below
Many of you have been out on The Nature Conservancy Preserve at Port Susan Bay. The Stillaguamish Tribe has restored an additional area, Zis a ba II, adjacent to the TNC property and it is quite dramatic. Jason Griffith, the restoration manager for the project will meet us on site to give us a brief overview before we walk the new dike. The dike is flat and graveled for accessibility, however, there is a short steeper ramp to access the dike. Scopes will be helpful if you have one. Meet at Boe Road at the first parking area on the left where you will see the new dike. After birding the dike at PSB, we will head to the duck-rich Stanwood Sewage Treatment Plant (STP!) The new trail around the pond is paved and easily accessible. Scopes are helpful if you have one. Dress for the weather and bring snacks/beverages.
