Hike-Boulder River

July 9 Boulder River

8:00 am to 3:00 pm

Moderate

The Boulder River hike is mostly through old-growth forest alongside and mostly above Boulder River. It ends in 4.5 miles at the river itself. 1000 ft elevation gain out and back.   One need not walk all the way to the river as there are many stopping points with several spectacular waterfalls along the way. Might be buggy. Meet at Mount Vernon Safeway at 8:00 am. Return time 3:00 pm. Drive east of Arlington on State Route 530 to milepost 41.  Turn right onto forest service road #2010. A sign may say French Creek.  Drive 3.7 miles to the trailhead on this gravel road.  WARNING:  Many and deep potholes--high clearance vehicles recommended. This is a wilderness hike, which means unexpected circumstances may cause a change in plan. Contact Tom Ozretich at (206) 330-6129 or tom.ozretich@gmail.com if you have questions. No more than 12 pairs of eyes. Each car may set its own return time. Everyone returning at stated times is to wait for all to return safely before leaving.  Dogs allowed on leash.
