Join Paul Anderson for a shorebird field trip to Fir Island Farms (aka Hayton). We should see the usual suspects: least and western sandpipers, both yellowlegs, dowitchers, killdeer, ducks, geese, gulls and terns; and, if we're lucky, black-bellied and semipalmated plovers. Other possibilities include Baird's, spotted and pectoral sandpipers or rarities like stilt or sharp-tailed sandpipers and red knot. Don’t forget the bald eagles, northern harriers and peregrine or merlin falcons that find all this potential food irresistible. Bring binoculars and spotting scopes (if you have them).
