Art & Story of Birding the World

Presented byThais Armstrong

Tuesday, November14 ,2017
7:00 Social; 7:30 Program
Padilla Bay Interpretive Center
10441 Bayview-Edison Road
Mt. Vernon, Washington

Thais has birded the world, visiting more than 30 countries with a focus on finding endangered and endemic birds.

While birding was the barometer, helping to determine where to go, what to look for, and how long to stay, she saw everything through the lens of an artist.  Come see beautiful pictures of birds from all over the world and listen to Thais’s evocative stories.  The Sokoke Scops owl from Kenya, pictured here, is but one example of Thais’s work.

Thais will describe how, while looking for target birds, she takes special delight in feathers on the ground, cryptic coloring, tropical seed pods, and patterns of light and dark.
