Skagit Audubon

Watching birds, protecting habitat, connecting with nature

San Juan Island

Date: Wed. Jun 1, 2022 8:30 am - 9:30 am

Hike on trails at American Camp, Whale Watch Park/Limekiln State Park, and English Camp.

Drivers should make a reservation, the sooner, the better, for both the outbound and return ferry trips.   Car pools need to be established before the day of the hike; no ferry walk-ons as we will need cars on the Island.  Drivers can notify me, Joan Melcher, see above, if they have room for riders.  People who wish to ride can notify me and I will put you on a waiting list.  Due to the pandemic and lack of ferry personnel, ferry runs can be delayed or canceled at any time so be prepared for that.

The best sailing time from Anacortes is the 8:30 am run, arriving at San Juan Island at 9:35 am.  Three return times depending on how much time you wish to spend on the Island----4:15 pm arriving in Anacortes at 5:40 pm; 6:25 pm sailing arriving at 7:50 pm.; 7:45 pm sailing arriving at 9:05 pm.    Cost of ferry fare for the vehicle will be split among the riders; each person will pay their own individual fare.
