Watching birds, protecting habitat, connecting with nature

Spring Migrants: From Songbirds to Shorebirds Wiley Slough/Hayden Access

Date: Sat. Apr 7, 2018 8:00 am - 1:00 pm
Duration: 5 Hours

Meet at Skagit Wildlife Area on Fir Island, Wylie Rd., at the boat launch parking lot to begin our search for migrants.  We’ll spend the first hour near the headquarters searching for upland birds, songbirds and more.  As the tide turns we’ll start on our way out along the dike trails to check wetlands for shorebirds and waterfowl.  We will move to Hayden Access trying to time our visit to optimize the tidal feeding areas.  Don’t forget your Discover Pass for parking.  A scope would be handy and pack a lunch too.  Leader: Jeff Osmundson; contact email:  jeffo4297@gmail.com.
